CREAMY CACAO SMOOTHIE

This smoothie is super creamy, thanks to my special secret ingredient which may come as a bit of a surprise… Courgette! You won’t be able to able to taste it but it will give your smoothie a nutrients boost. It’s also a great way to add more veggies to your kids diet, as they won’t be able to resist this chocolatey smoothie. Don’t like the taste of banana and want to up the veggies in this smoothie, sub in frozen cauliflower.

Smoothie Recipe

Servings: 2

Time to create: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 75g frozen banana

  • 75g frozen courgette

  • 2 dates

  • 1 tbsp cacao

  • 1 tbsp hemp hearts (dehulled)

  • 1 tbsp almond butter

  • 250ml almond milk

  • Pinch of salt

Method

  1. Simply pop all the ingredients into a high speed blender and blitz until smooth.

  2. Option to add a dusting of cacao powder, and a sprinkle of cacao nibs and desiccated coconut.

Top tip: Slice the banana and courgette into discs before freezing. If using cauliflower, break into small florets before freezing.
